Hi  Everybody.

Welcome  back.  All  the  Spanish  tourists  have  now  gone so  its  now  possible  the  car-  all  we need  is  the  temperatures  to  drop  a  bit  to  get  back  to  normal.

For  those  who  stayed  in  here  on  the  Costa del Sol  we  all  enjoyed  watching  Spain  winning  the  World  Cup  as  well  as  all  the  celebrations  afterwards.

The  HOSPITALITY  DESK  will  be  open  weekly  again  at  11.30 am  from  Friday,  September  3rd  at  the  Manila  Cafe  on  Paseo  Maritimo 17,  Los  Boliches  -  we  look  forward  to  seeing  anyone  who  can  get  there  for  a  chat and  maybe  some  lunch  afterwards.

First  some  news  from  Troy  Davis  about  the  annual  Department  of  Europe  Veteran  of  Foreign  Wars, (VFW)  reunion  he  attended  in  Germany:

Hello comrades and friends!

We, of the Dept of Europe VFW group held our convention this year at the Edelweiss center in Garmisch, Germany.  It is situated in the Bavarian Alps, lovely place with crisp, cool air.  It seems the big sport in that area is HANG GLIDING and SKIING.  There was lots of snow, high up and the German economy is equipped to handle any type of sporting requirement.Too bad the convention lasted only three days.  The beer was good, the bratwurst was first class and the area is so spic and span that people can just throw out a newspaper and have a picnic.  Notable, in the military rest center was the NO CIGARETTES ANYWHERE.  The rest center is operated by the US MWR people out of Dallas, TX.  Everything is American.  The SOS was very-very good as were the grits and ready made ice-cream.  Too bad it is so far away.  Next year, the VFW comrades will meet for their annual get-together at Ludwigshafen, next to Mannheim. And, in signing off, a special salute to Comrade >Ron Robinson, for a job well planned and executed to perfection.  Gracias

Regards to all----Troy

Or you can in-line skate on a track that swerves around the 13th deck. There's the nine-hole Adventure Dunes miniature golf course and the Royal Promenade, a bustling "street" of shops, restaurants and bars that's overlooked by four decks of interior staterooms. You can even climb a rock wall that looms 200 feet above sea level. Couples can take romance to new heights at the Skylight Chapel, located at the tallest point on the ship. A variety of themed bars and lounges, dance clubs (separate facilities for teens and adults) and the La Marquis theater offer nighttime diversions. Rising three levels is the Gotham Dining Room, where you'll enjoy Continental fare. For dining alternatives, head to Johnny Rocket's, a '50s-style diner, the Island Grille or one of the spots on the Royal Promenade. Club Ocean is the social center for younger guests, and teens have their own hangouts, too.
