Dear Members,
I wanted to tell you all a little anecdote regarding our American Club of the Costa del Sol's Website. This comes from one of our long-term and well-respected members who prefers to remain anonymous. As your Editor, it made me feel very proud and I hope that you enjoy it too!
With warm wishes for a relaxing and fun-filled summer!
Joanne
"On our long flight back, I sat next to a professor of Education from UCLA, who started a conversation that turned into a delightful repartee. She and her husband, a professor emeritus of Finance also at UCLA, are touring the world, a summer at a time. This year, itīs Spain! He is giving a seminar in Madrid, and then they plan to tour the country.
Of course, she wanted pointers as to where to go and what to see; they would start in Madrid and do the central and north part of Spain first and then come to Andalucia. They planned to visit Cadiz, Jerez and Granada and then go to Cordoba. She was holding a Michelin guide and other books, where she had made some selections, but neither had a lot to say about Cordoba, other than the Mesquite, the cathedral and the old town.
I told her not to miss Malaga, Marbella, Sevilla, Antequera, Ubrique and Ronda and all the little mountain towns, "los pueblos blancos" that are the true flavor of Andalucia. However, I donīt know that much about Cordoba, so I could not help her there.
Then, I remembered the nice article that Brian Buckley wrote on the Estepona webpage for June. We pulled out the computer, entered the ACCS website, which she liked a lot, and praised for appealing look and feel. We found all the information she wanted about a special place to visit in Cordoba. Of course, this gave us also a chance to go through the webpages and see all the activities of the Chapters, and the photos in the Gallery. She was delighted and impressed. I wanted to pass it on. A pat on the back to you, all the way from the heavens..."
