Lets start this month with news and a photograph of the FMB Chapter Board:

At the April 7th FMB Board meeting in the Manila Bar Barbara Oldridge kindly offered to take the position of Secretary from Charles Powell. This was unanimously passed by all the Board members present and Barbara was welcomed to the Board.
NEWS ABOUT TROY AND JACKIE DAVIS

The photograph shows Troy and Jackie celebrating Jackie´s birthday on April 7th at Patrick Bausier's place on the Paseo, in Fuengirola. We all hope you both enjoyed the evening.
FMB CHAPTER MEETING, REGINA´S RESTAURANTE, FUENGIROLA PORT, 13TH APRIL 2010
The meeting was called to order at 1145 hours by David Kylen, the President.
The minutes of the last meeting and the Treasurers´ report were read out by your Editor; both these were approved by the members present.
David said that meetings with the management of the Parque Miramar Commercial Centre, Fuengirola were taking place to arrange for a day with an American theme on Saturday, May 22nd. Thanks to Troy Davis representatives of Budweiser and Cola Cola had been contacted to negotiate the supply of these products on the day. There would also be Entertainment and the Marbella and Estepona Chapters were also going to participate. (See below for details of the schedule of events)
FMB Chapter had also planned to participate with the Lions´ Club in the Mijas International Festival on the weekend June 12/13th. David said he had met with Anette Skou of the Foreign Residents Office in Mijas but at this late stage all the centre stalls were allocated so it was agreed FMB would leave this event until next year and would start preparing for it at an earlier date.
Patricia Gray announced receipt of an e-mail from Gigi Joly regarding Marbella Chapter lifetime member Sidney Matthews, aged 103, whose wife Lillian had recently passed away. Marbella Chapter were holding a luncheon in his honour at Sanyres, Puerto Banus and all American Club members from along the Costa del Sol would be warmly welcomed.
Troy Davis motioned for June Whitton to form a committee to nominate candidates for election as Club Officers for the year beginning January 2011. This was seconded by Chuck Dominy and carried by the majority of members present.
A raffle was held: First prize went to Liise Wotherspoon, 2nd to Leif Malmborg and 3rd to your Editor. The Meeting ended at 1215 hours.

NEWS FROM ENTERTAINMENT MANAGER, JUNE WHITTON
June says "...Well the dinner dance at Regina´s on April 17th was a huge success for FMB; we were also glad that members from MALAGA could join us. The food was excellent and the country WESTERN singer WILLY JACKSON WAS FANTASTIC...we will do this more often".
We have to thank June for organising such a successful and enjoyable event. As it did not rain that evening she even managed to control the weather !!

4pm to 6pm - American films starring Marilyn Monroe or John Wayne
5pm to 7pm - Free face painting for children
6pm to 7pm - Entertainment by singer, Davey Baker.
6pm to 6.30pm - Free drinks - Budweiser beer, Coca Cola or Fanta; also free hot snacks.
7.30pm to 8.30pm - Entertainment by the "Ghost Riders" band.
7.30pm to 8pm - Free drinks - Budweiser beer, Coca Cola or Fanta; also free hot snacks.
