As Brian and I were in Barcelona and were unable to attend our April Luncheon/Meeting at Armstrongs Restaurant and Lounge, I asked some of our Board Members to write a little something about the day.....here is a wonderful little story from our Nita Marsh....a true, "straight from the hip" recollection of how the day went....in true Nita style! Thanks Nita
"In spite of a downpour of rain and yellow mud at the entrance, a man from Armstrong's offered to drive my car a bit further, get it turned around so my passenger in the front seat would not have to slush through the mud....and I had just had my car cleaned inside and out the day before!!! The road was in such bad shape that is was impossible to reach the Roman Oasis.
At my table for 10, Brenda Seline generously supplied wine and water for all of us! Thanks Brenda. Our meal was served with smiling faces and it was more than ample and very tasty.
Ana Maria Garin gave a very interesting talk about Estepona in Spanish which Andree translated.
We drank a toast to Gillian and Bernard Tarry as they are leaving us for the U.K.
All in all, in spite of the weather, we had a very enjoyable afternoon together.
P.S. Amstrongs gets a "5 star rating" in my book for being so generous with their servings of wine, good food served graciously, and for all the help getting car's parked, trying to keep us out of the mud!"
