Hi Everybody.
Lets start this month with news about the last Chapter Meeting
FMB CHAPTER MEETING, REGINAīS RESTAURANTE, FUENGIROLA PORT, 9TH MARCH 2010
The meeting was called to order at 1140 hours by David Kylen, the President.
The minutes of the last meeting were read out by Charles Powell and your Editor, the Treasurer then read out the Treasurersī report; both these were approved by the members present.
It was reported that regretably the Membership Records Officer, Peter Pilliger wanted a rest. Your Editor asked the membership present to give a vote of thanks for the excellant way Peter had maintained the records and manned the Hospitality Desk during his time with the Chapter; this was passed unanimously by the members at the meeting.
June Whitton said she had arranged a Country and Western Night with Entertainment on Saturday, April 17th. (details given below) She had also notified other Chapter Presidents about the event.
David said that the Miramar Centre, Fuengirola, were putting on a day with an American theme on Saturday, May 15th and our Chapter was in discussions with the management to man a booth there and organise various events.
As there was now a surplus of funds in the FMB bank account it was proposed that 400 euros be donated to a charity. Gay Nyssen suggested CUDECA. Gay said she became involved with them personally during Adele Moranīs recent terminal illness and found they gave excellant in-house care, provided home care teams and loaned equipment. Their motto was "Days for Life" and they gave free, according to medical need, help to anyone in Malaga Province. They were also desperately in need of funds to keep the in-house care unit going. David said that last year FMB had donated to the Age Care Association and at the FMB Board had voted at the March 5th meeting to give to CUDECA. June Whitton said we should contribute to our host country by helping local children such as sending 5 or 6 children to summer camp this year. Inge Stone suggested we should give some toys to local children at Christmas.
A vote was taken by members present and the majority was for giving the money to CUDECA.
Charles Powell gave a talk on his book "The Churchill Diaries" which is the diary of a fictitous intelligence adviser to Winston Churchill during the Second World War. Charles offered to refund the price of the book to the first person who could correctly answer the question posed in the last paragraph of the book.
Finally as your Editor had finally managed to remember to bring a book of raffle tickets we were able to hold a raffle ! First prize went to Inge Stone, 2nd to Ellie Frances and 3rd to Troy Davis.
The Meeting ended at 1215 hours.

A very nice Chapter lunch was held at an old favourite of FMB, the El Rio Restaurante, Los Boliches. We had an excellant menu choice and good food served by a very attentive staff. Everyone left happy and content. See attached photograph of some the group.

FMB Chapter members and their friends went for an evening to the Salon Varietes Theatre, Fuengirola to see "Joseph and the Amazing Technicolour Dreamcoat" directed by Peter Mitchell and choreographed by Peter Height. We all enjoyed the very good cast performing a spectacular rendition of this Andrew Lloyd-Webber / Tim Rice musical.
