Hi Everybody.
First of all, I hope everybody had a good Christmas wherever they were; if you were in Spain it was certainly a wet one! I also wish you all a Happy, Healthy and Prosperous New Year.

A monthly FMB Chapter Board Meeting was held the Manila Cafe. The subjects discussed concerned the forthcoming Chapter Meeting to be held at Regina´s Bar in Fuengirola Port on the following Tuesday; the most important being the election of President for the FMB Chapter.

MONTHLY MEMBERS MEETING AT REGINA´S BAR,
FUENGIROLA PORT, 8TH DECEMBER 2009
The meeting was called to order at 1130 hours by David Kylen, the President. He then presented a visitor, Rosella Parmiter, the Malaga Chapter President who had kindly agreed to adjudicate at the forthcoming election.
The minutes of the last meeting were read out and approved by the members present. Treasurer Ridha then read out the Treasurers´ report; this was motioned by Shirley Prichard and also approved by the members present.
June Whitton did a first class job in her new position in charge of Entertainment by presenting forthcoming events for December 2009 and January 2010. See below for the list of venues in January 2010.
Your Editor said there had been problems of incompatibility with his computer document programmes and the Website Managers, these were now hopefully resolved.
David Kylen said all agreed that the recent Thanksgiving Celebration had been highly successful; the only complaint being that it had not been long enough ! He confirmed that raffle was also very successful and had made about 850 euros for the Central Board to distribute to charity.
A raffle was drawn. 1st prize - Donna Porteous, 2nd prize - Jorgen Holden, 3rd prize - Sandie Brown
The Chapter Secretary (your Editor) asked if all members who wanted to vote had received ballot forms. Members were invited to vote for the candidates, David Kylen and Raouf Ridha for the position of President of the Chapter for the year commencing January 2010. After the counting of the votes David Kylen was declared the winner by a majority of eleven votes; all the votes cast being declared valid by Rosella.
Raouf graciously expressed support for David and urged all members to support him during the coming year. David requested that Raouf remain in his position as Treasurer.
The Meeting ended at 1215 hours and members adjourned for some snacks brought in by members and some delicious punch concocted by Regina.
PRE-CHRISTMAS DINNER AND DANCE
18TH DECEMBER 2009
David, our President with the help of Raffaelle at the Valparaiso Restaurante, Mijas organised a pre-Christmas Dinner and Dance for our Chapter members. Raffaelle and his staff at the Valparaiso once again excelled themselves with first class service and exceptional food as can be seen from a picture of the menu prepared for us.
The evening continued with the performance of a selection of operatic arias from an Italian singer and dancing to the singing of a cabaret singer. Our members had two tables and we were fortunate that there was large table next to ours with people from a local singles club to join in the dancing. A good time was had by all who attended (especially your Editor! )
SOME NEWS FROM PATRICIA GRAY:
Inge gave a wonderful Christmas party in her most interesting home, Decorated beautifully with all kinds of Christmas decorations and her famous art works done in papier mache. 3 lifesize Kings bearing gifts on the terrace. Musical instruments and musical memorabilia
Members from the Malaga Philharmonic Orchestra and other friends of Inge entertained us with some beautiful music including Christmas carols. Although late at night we were warm on her terrace with the log fire burning and the brazier glowing. She gives wonderful parties. It really felt like Christmas.
CHRISTMAS DAY LUNCH
Several of our members joined a local group of "waifs and strays" to have a Christmas Day lunch at the Calah Luna Restaurant, central Fuengirola; there were about 40 people there. The company was good and we have to thank Gill for organising the lunch.
