It was another evening which brought together some of our members, their guests, as well as a fantastic turnout of our Marbella Chapter's members too!  A lot of us were excited about another event at the beautiful Cortijo Vizcaronda.  The evening started off with a social hour upstairs in the cortijo's beautiful lounge with a log fire burning which added to the atmosphere.  When everyone came downstairs to be seated for the Wine Tasting Presentation, did they ever have the surprise of their lives!!  The two men, who prepared for the event beautifully.....didn't show up!! 



What could have turned out to be a complete disaster, actually turned out to be quite a fun and interesting night.  They say we all have a "Guardian Angel" and we know that ours was present that night in the form of our very own member Brian Buckley. 



Brian, who has done this before for some other events, jumped in and saved the night!  With the help of John from Cortijo Vizcaronda, Andree Gardella, Brian Wynne-Hughes, John Pease & "moi",  bottles were opened, poured, wine descriptions were quickly studied, and everyone in the room started tasting and discussing the wine's quality, color, nose, etc., and all led by our very own Estepona Chapter Wine Expert, Brian Buckley. 

At this point the true star of the night started sending the staff around with the tapas.  Henry truely outdid himself this time and the comments said it all!  We had plates of cheeses, jamon, spiced nuts, olives, tortillas, morcilla, albondigas, skewers of pork, Henry's famous liver pate...and venison in a red wine sauce!!   All of it amazingly authentic, especially when you think about the fact that Henry is English!!  All in all, from the various comments at the end of the night, as well as phone calls and emails received, it was a very good night and enjoyed by all!
